AP MP Dons God's Vesham to Offer prayers!

The holy shrine of Tirupati is one of the major Hindu temples that attracts devotees across the nation and outside the country as well. As another speciality of the temple City, Tirupati also celebrates a festival that is dedicated to worship the Grama Devata or the Village deity.
Tirupati celebrates the annual folk festival named Tirupati Ganga Jatara that is celebrated for one week. The festival is dedicated to offer prayers to Grama Devata Goddess Ganga. Devotees celebrate the festival by wearing various veshas and offering goddess Pongali and Ambali. Not just the devotees, even the politicians and high profile people take part in the festival.
Tirupati MP Gurumurthy took part in the celebration.Going by the grand old tradition of wearing veshas, the ruling party MP dinner the vesh of Kaliyuga Daivam Sri Venkateswara Swamy. Photos of the MP in the God avatar are now going rounds on social media.
Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy also participated in the Jatara along with his wife.The wife and husband offered the prayers and Sare to the Grama Devata and sought her blessings.
As the Jatara is celebrated after a gap of two years, the authorities made massive arrangements so that the devotees will not get any issues while offering prayers. Special places were dedicated for the devotees to wear the veshas they want and celebrate the festival.
The village festival was not celebrated in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid impact. As the restrictions were in places restricting people from stepping out of their houses, the Jatara was not celebrated for two consecutive years.
As a piece of good news for the devotees, the festival started on the 10th of this month and will end on the 17th. People from not only the temple City, but across the country reach there to offer their prayers.
The tradition of celebrating the Jatara goes back a few centuries. According to the legend, Goddess Gangamma took the incarnation to save the people from various social evils. Since then, the tradition has been going on. People across the ages and regions show up at the temple City Tirupati and offer their prayers according to their traditions.
