AP Panchayat poll results were no less than edge-of-seat thriller

The YSRCP had established its superiority by bagging more than 82 per cent of the seats. But, there were many cliffhangers in the elections where the contest was intense and the victory margin was wafer thin.
In Padamara Gogulapalli village of Nellore, the TDP candidate won by just three votes. Initially, the majority was shown as five votes. But, the YSRCP candidate demanded a recounting. After recounting, the majority was reduced to just three votes. In Varikuntapadu panchayat of Nellore, the TDP candidate has won by just one vote. In Maddirala-Muppalla panchayat of Prakasam district, the YSRCP candidate won by just two votes. Similarly, TDP candidate Ooha had won by one vote in Paipally panchayat of Chittoor district nd BJP candidate V Shanti had won by just one vote in Mangalam village of the same district.
The TDP had lost Kakarlamudi, Pothumarry, Kandalapadu, Munagapadu, Pondugala and Nandigama, Govindapuram of East Godavari too the victory margin was razor thin. This shows how intense the elections were. In some places, YSRCP rebels also managed to register victories.
