AP Reports 12 Fresh Cases, The Count Reaches 161
By: Tupaki Desk | 3 April 2020 6:05 AM GMTThe rapid growth of the positive cases in Andhra Pradesh is ringing the danger bells as the cases are increasing steadily in the state. 12 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus were reported in Andhra Pradesh between Thursday night and Friday early morning.
With the fresh cases, the toll of the positive cases reaches 161 in the state creating fear and concerns in the public. More and more districts are reporting new positive cases.
Nellore tops the list of districts with most positive cases with 32 followed by the Krishna district with 23positive cases. Incidentally, the first coronavirus case in AP was reported from Nellore on March 12 when a foreign returnee tested positive but he has since recovered fully.
"About 16 per cent of those who attended the Jamaat event tested positive in the state," the state nodal officer for Covid-19 Arja Srikanth said.
A gross number of 1,873 samples were tested in the state since early March and 1,321 tested negative.
Telangana reported 154 positive cases and recorded 9 deaths due to the COVID-19 so far while 17 out of the 154 people were discharged after recovering completely and 128 people have developed active Coronavirus symptoms.
More than 1,002,000 people have been diagnosed with the COVID-19 disease worldwide, as the death toll surpassed 51,000 while about 208,000 patients recovered.
