Are Employees getting scared of Babu again?
By: Tupaki Desk | 3 Nov 2017 10:30 PM ISTPrior to 2004 Polls, Chandrababu Naidu appeared like a dictator for Government Employees. This is one of the major factors behind the huge defeat of TDP in that elections.
By 2014, TDP Supremo managed to convince the Employees that he changed a lot. To prove his employee-friendly nature, He increased the retirement age to 60 and raised the pay on par with the Telangana Employees. For the employees who shifted from Hyderabad to Amaravati, He promised 5-day week, incentives and quarters.
Seems like, Chandrababu Naidu has realized that employees have become too lenient and decided to act tough. Two Section Officers (one each from Water Resources and Law Departments) were suspended recently for leaking age limit draft copy of employees to the media. AP Secretariat Staff staged a protest against the suspension. Secretariat Employees Association President Muralikrishna gave an assurance that he will discuss the matter with the Government.
Employees aren't happy with the installation of CCTV Cameras all over the Secretariat. They complain CM is insulting them by suspecting their integrity.
Even Employees are unhappy over the delay in settling pay revision arrears and DA arrears.
All these factors may prove costly for TDP in next polls. It's up to CM to decide whether he should please the employees or people, or both.
