AP Special Status: Naidu's double-speak exposed!
By: Tupaki Desk | 21 May 2015 4:21 PM GMTCongress leader Jairam Ramesh alleged NDA Government has gone back on its promise of Special Category Status to AP and hence its Ministers are inventing new excuses.
Jairam Ramesh shot back at Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu who questioned Congress why the Special Category provision wasn't included in AP Reorganisation Act, 2014. He reminded Uttarakhand was formed Uttar Pradesh in 2000 and it was accorded Special Category Status in 2002 (When NDA was in Power) even though the provision wasn't part of the Bill.
The Rajya Sabha Member pointed out Venkaiah Naidu knew that Narendra Modi has gone back on the commitment to AP. "Venkaiah Naidu says Congress failed to include the provision in the Bill. At the same time, He assures all the promises made to the people of AP will be fulfilled. There is a lot of double-speak," he alleges, apart from saying Modi has betrayed people of AP.
