AP to bring back Amaravati's lost glory
By: Tupaki Desk | 14 Oct 2015 6:03 PM GMTAP Government is keen on bringing back several Articrafts belonging to proposed new capital Amaravati which were kept on display in British Museum in London.
AP Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao came to know that nearly 40 articrafts which were excavated in and around AP Capital region are on display at the British Museum during his recent visit to the foreign country. "The Articrafts which include stupas, chakras, pillars and etc., at the Amaravati Gallery in London belong to our Capital region. Most of them are related to either Buddhism or Amaravati's history," he told.
AP Government believes these rare Articrafts made of 'palnad' marble might have been transported to London during the British Rule. Now, Attempts were made to discuss the matter with Centre after video-graphing them at the British museum to bring back the articrafts for restoring the lost glory. That's going to be a long process for sure!
