Szc Meeting: Ap To Fight For Interests Of The State!

The Southern Zonal Council (SZC) meeting that aims to create a platform for the states in the southern region of India to sort out the issues among the states will be hosted in temple city Tirupati. November 14 was fixed as the date for the meeting. Besides the Chief Ministers of the southern states, other dignitaries will also grace the meeting.
The Southern Zonal Council (SZC) meeting that will last one day will see dignitaries like Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Lieutenant Governors of Puducherry, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Administrator of Lakshadweep as the guests of the high-level meeting. Chief Ministers of Kerala, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Puducherry will attend the meeting
As per the experts' opinion, Andhra Pradesh is expected to use the meeting as a golden chance to raise the key demands like special status and the issues pertaining to water sharing with other Telugu state Telangana. The issue of pending dues from the centre is also expected to come for discussion.
Andhra Pradesh will raise its voice on the special status that has been pending since the state bifurcation and the pending issues that were supposed to reach the state under the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014. The issues that went unresolved would be raised at the meeting reportedly.
It has been widely reported that Andhra Pradesh will also raise the issues like asset division and the payments the state has to receive for various projects. The divided state will use this as a good opportunity to fight for the issues that deal with the interests of the state.
As only days left for the crucial meeting, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy chaired a key meeting with the key ministers and officials on the preparations for the meetings.
As the river boards have taken the reservoirs in the two Telugu states under their purview, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are likely to highlight their concerns and give their take on the same. The Andhra Pradesh government is likely to push for the demand to take the Jurala irrigation project under the purview of the Krishna River Management Board.
