Andhra Pradesh which has been reporting over 6000 cases of the virus since a few days overtook Karnataka and turned out as the fourth worst-affected state in India in terms of infections. AP recorded 10% growth of fresh cases of the virus

Andhra Pradesh currently has 96,298 infections of the contagious disease. The top three worst-hit states in India with the virus outbreak are Maharashtra( 375,799), Tamil Nadu(213,723), and national capital Delhi(130,606).

If Andhra Pradesh continues to report fresh infections of the contagious disease at the same phase, within no time the state will surpass national capital Delhi and emerge as the third worst-affected state in the country.

The prevailing situations in the state are ringing danger bells as the state is reporting 1,884 infections of the virus per every one lakh population. The average infections per one lakh population has been increasing gradually.

On the other hand, the positive percentage of the samples tested for the ongoing pandemic in AP is higher than the percentage in the larger states in the country. The positive percentage in the larger states in India is ranging between 8-12 percent, while Andhra Pradesh has the highest percentage of 13 percent.

Looking at the cases in the state, Andhra Pradesh reported 7,627 fresh infections of the respiratory disease on Sunday, which takes the toll of the total infections in the state to 96,298.
