Mob Killings: What Centre Asks States To Do?

Following a directive from the Supreme Court on July 17th, Centre sent an advisory to all the States and Union Territories listing out the preventive measures to be taken for ending mob violence and lynching. This is the second advisory from centre on mob attacks in a span of one month.
i) A SP-level Officer should be appointed as a Nodal Officer in each District.
ii) A Special Task Force must be set up to closely monitor the social media contents.
iii) If the Police Office & Officer of District Administration fail to comply with the directions to prevent mob attacks and investigate, It should be considered as an act of negligence/misconduct and strong disciplinary action would be taken.
iv) States & UTs have to send a detailed report to Centre on the measures taken to prevent mob violence.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh informed Parliament that Centre is willing to bring a new Law if required to prevent mob lynching. He himself will head the Ministers Panel on Mob Violence.
