Pandemic Impact: APSRTC Removes 7000 Outsource Staff
X
Given the spread of the ongoing pandemic, Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation(APSRTC) removed 7000 outsource employees from the service. The financial burden forced the government to take this bold call.

Interestingly, the RTC decided to remove the outsourced and contract employees in the last month itself but withdrew from the decision with criticism received from various sections.

This time, the APSRTC went ahead to remove the employees as the RTC is not functioning full-fledged like earlier. The new decision will be implemented from today and the employees were informed of the new decision.

However, APSRTC said that the excess conductors in the corporation will be deployed if any need arises in the places of the removed outsourced employees.

Ever since the pandemic started the APSRTC halted its operations completely and it restarted the operations partially during the lockout 4.0. If the public transport system starts functioning normally, there is a chance of taking back the outsource employees to service.
