Are Nellores arch rivals coming together ?
X
They have never been best of friends. In fact, they have always remained in the opposite camps spiting at one another. Though they were briefly together in the TDP for some time the relation has always been frosty. But, YS Jagan’s decision to carve out new districts has brought them together. Though in rival parties, both are now speaking the same tone.

We are talking about former ministers Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy. While the former is in the YSRCP and is Venkatagiri MLA, the latter is in the TDP. Both Anam and Somireddy are unhappy at the way the new districts were carved out. They are deeply dissatisfied with how several mandals have been included in other districts and how the district headquarters towns are far too removed from these mandals. Though other YSRCP leaders are silent, Anam has voiced his dissatisfaction and slammed the government for creating new districts without consulting the people.

He also said that the new divisions could lead to problems of water-sharing. Interestingly, Somireddy too has voiced similar concerns. This has led to speculations that both are coming together. Adding grist to the rumour mill, both Somireddy and Anam are likely to meet soon.

There are reports that the TDP leaders are planning to take along Anam Ramanarayana Reddy in their protests against the carving out of the new districts. Political pundits say that Anam-Somireddy meet could bring in new political equations in the sensitive Nellore district. Anam could very well become the face of the protests against the YSRCP government in Nellore district, say sources.
