Are TMC MLAs Really In Touch With BJP?
The saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party which managed to spread its wings in the northeastern region and even touch the 100 mark in Rajya Sabha since 1990 could not break the West Bengal Baston of Mamata Banerjee. Despite giving its best the BJP fell short of reaching the magic figure.

The likes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and cabinet Ministers aggressively campaigned in West Bengal. BJP also became a subject of criticism as the party held massive events and programs when the Covid fear was at its peak.

The BJP was also accused of making a failed attempt to poach MLAs to its side. PM Modi himself said at one instance that 40 MLAs are in touch with the party. A Prime Minister making such kind of comments was probably the first time.

Now a Union Minister made a similar comment and said that 40-45 Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLAs are in touch with the BJP and the party will take a call on what can be done now. He made the comments to say that the TMC is getting weaker.

"The organisational foundation of Trinamool Congress has become extremely weak. It is like quicksand and will collapse like house of cards. We understand this well and Bengal understand it very well. 40 to 45 MLA's are in touch with us. We will think what can be done in coming days," Union Minister of State, Ministry of Home Affairs Nisith Pramanik said.

Now political experts raise doubt about whether the MLAs are in touch with the BJP really. Generally, BJP never misses an opportunity to topple the government if there is enough space. After Shiv Sena ended ties with it for the Chief Minister's post, BJP gave a return gift by toppling the government.

The MVA government was toppled and the Eknath Shinde camp formed the government with the help of the Bharatiya Janata Party. If it has a similar chance in West Bengal then why it is not doing the same is the question here. If BJP can topple the government then it will be a hammer blow to Mamata Banerjee. But the party is doing that.
