Are We Shifting To A Forest?: Buggana In Assembly

Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy ridiculed previous TDP Government for planning to build Amaravati by borrowing loans from various financial institutions. He questioned, 'Do we really need to build the capital by borrowing loans when Rayalaseema is suffering due to drought and people of Uttar Andhra are migrating to other regions for employment? That is why the World Bank has withdrawn its support to the Amaravati model'.
Buggana mentioned about the inappropriate land allotments done by the TDP Government during his speech in the Assembly. 'TDP Government offered 1,300 acres in Amaravati to private firms. 600 acres were sanctioned to VIT, SRM and Amrutha Varsities at a price of Rs 50 lakh per acre. While Indo UK Hospital received 150 acres, Medicity got 100 acres in the capital region. Whereas, Lands were sanctioned at a price of Rs 1 crore for Central Government establishments. Few Banks received lands at a rate of Rs 4 crore per acre. Under the PPP Model, Lands were allotted for Convention Centres for those in the good books of the TDP Government. Even Govt Lands weren't spared by the TDP Sarcar,' he alleged.

He blamed TDP Government for shifting from Hyderabad inspite of having Hyderabad as joint capital for a period of 10 years. 'YCP Government wishes to ensure people of all the three regions remain united forever. Why TDP is so worried about the proposal to make Visakha into an administrative capital? Are we shifting to a forest?,' wondered Buggana.
