Arrest warrant against Sujana Chowdary

TDP Rajya Sabha MP Sujana Chowdary has received a shocker from Nampally high court. The court on Thursday issued an arrest warrant against Union Minister for not attending court proceedings in connection with a complaint filed by the Mauritius Commercial Bank. The court has issued non bailable arrest warrant for not attending the court in person even after he is summoned for three times.
Sujana Chowdary is one of the guarantors of a firm which has failed to repay the Rs. 106 crores loan it took from the Mauritius Commercial Bank between February and June 2012. As the borrower Hestia has not cleared the loan, the bank filed a petition in the court claiming that the outstanding should be paid by selling the properties of Universal Industries, which is under surety.
Few months back the High court has served notices of Contempt Court to the Sujana Chowdary as no response to the notices already in the past regarding payment of loan. As Sujan adidint paid heed to the notices now the court have issued arrest warrant.The court adjourned the case for further hearing on April 26.
