Arrest Warrant Issued Against Sashi Tharoor

A Court in Thiruvananthapuram issued arrest warrant against Shashi Tharoor after the Congress MP didn't turn up for the hearing related to a book authored by him 3 decades ago.
As per the Complainant, Sashi Tharoor's book 'The Great Indian Novel' disrespects the 'Nair' Women.
The MP's Office says, 'We did bring to the notice of the court that only the time was specified in the summons issued, not the date. Upon acknowledging it, An indication was given that fresh summons will be issued. But, We received no summons before the first hearing (Saturday). We will appeal against the warrant by moving the Chief Judicial Magistrate'.
'The Great Indian Novel', which is a satirical take, was published in the year 1989. Several books authored by Sashi Tharoor are among the best sellers. He is one among the 23 Writers selected for the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2019.
