Finance Minister Arun Jaitley treated VVIPs of the country very well while presenting the Union Budget 2018-19. He not only revised the salaries of President, Vice President and Governors, but also proposed Inflation-linked revision of salaries paid to MPs.
Until now, President, Vice President and Governors used to receive Rs 1.5 lakh, Rs 1.25 lakh and Rs 1.10 lakh respectively as salary per month.
Whereas, Cabinet Secretary and Secretary in the Union Government began drawing Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 2.25 lakh per month as salary from January 1st, 2016 due to 7th Pay Commission recommendations. Even the Salaries of the heads of Indian Army, Air Force and Indian Navy are more than that of President, Vice President and Governors.
In Today's budget presentation, Arun Jaitley revised the monthly salaries of President, Vice President and Governors to Rs 5 lakh, Rs 4 lakh and Rs 3.5 lakh respectively.
