Demonetisation was a Suicide: Arun Shourie
X
Former Union Minister Arun Shourie described Demonetisation, which hurt the economic growth of the country, as nothing but suicide. Terming the note ban as a very bold step, He said: 'All the arguments made by Government to defend Demonetisation has failed, be it Black Money or Terrorism'.

Arun Shourie called Modi Government as a 'Government of Two-and-a-half Persons'. He ridiculed Amit Shah, who said GDP drop is due to technical reasons, by calling him 'famous economist'. He says Leaders who are running the Government neither seek any advice nor accept the facts.

The Ex-Minister questioned, 'Is it not true that GDP fell to 3.7 percent as per the old series? Is it not true that index of Industrial production slipped to 1.7 percent in the first quarter of 2017-18 from 9 percent in 2015-16? Government Policies lack predictability, stability and credibility'.

Mr.Shourie alleged BJP Leadership is only focussing on event management and they are more concerned about 300-feet statue and bullet train. On BJP Leaders calling former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha a frustrated person for slamming Arun Jaitley over demonetisation, He said it's a fixed procedure they follow whenever someone speaking facts which cause inconvenience to them. He even advised BJP to publish the list of persons who they think are frustrated in advance.
