How Congress Scored A Self-Goal?
X
It is now increasingly becoming clear that the Maha Kutami is proving to be a millstone around the Congress neck. It is becoming a liability for the Congress. Especially, the alliance with Chandababu might prove to be counter-productive.

Many political watchers are of the opinion that the Congress has done a major mistake by sending its list of candidates to the TDP chief for approval. Congress leaders and TTDP leadership making a beeline to Amaravati to meet Chandrababu Naidu is also not being taken kindly by the Telangana voters. Ashok Gehlot's visit to Amaravati to meet Chandrababu is proving to be very damaging. If the Congress wanted to really get its list approved by Chandrababu, it could have done in secrecy. But, it chose too do it openly. This has now come handy for the TRS to attack the TDP and the Congress. The TRS is claiming that if the Maha Kutami wins, the Telangana government would be run from Amaravati and the Andhraites would rule Telangana by proxy. Both the Congress and the TDP are unable to answer this and counter the TRS propaganda. Also, there are now very strong fears that the Kutami may not work at the ground level and the TDP votes might not get transferred to the Congress and vice-versa.
