Ashwin and Mithali Raj to get nominated for Khel Ratna, three others for Arjuna

The governing body of cricket, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in its latest meeting has finalised the names of the players, who will be nominated for the sports awards.
As per the news agency ANI, BCCI had decided to recommend, ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin women’s cricket team Test and ODI Captain Mithali Raj for Khel Ratna Award for this year.
On the other hand, Gabbar Shikhar Dhawan, Yorker King Jasprit Bumrah and batter KL Rahul would be nominated for the Arjuna Awards.
Ravichandran Ashwin who made his debut in 2010 had completed more than a decade in international cricket across the platforms and played a big role in several matches.
Mithali Raj, who is currently at the fifth position in the ICC Women Cricketer's Rankings made a record of having the longest career in the game. She has been representing India for more than 22 years.
While only two players will be nominated for Khel Ratna Award this year, five players including Hitman Rohit Sharma were honoured with the highest sporting honour in the previous edition of the award ceremony.
