MLA booked for raping Minor Girl

Assam MLA Gopinath Das has been booked for rape on Monday after a complaint was filed by his Domestic Help. The accused is a leader of All India United Democratic Front and currently representing Boko Assembly segment.
As per the complaint, Gopinath Das has sexually assaulted the minor girl, who works as a maid in his house, in his vehicle few days ago. Ever since then, She wasn't allowed to step out or meet any one. Somehow, The teenage girl escaped from the confinement and informed her family about the harassment.
A case under Section 343 of Indian Penal Code and Section 4 & Section 8 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act has been registered against Gopinath Das.
Gopinath Das, however, denied sexually exploiting the maid. He says, 'The girl who has been working at his Guwahati residence since June 28th went missing on Saturday night. I even filed a missing complaint in police station'.
