Assembly Failure Turns Out Stepping Stone For Lok Sabha Success

Six months ago, G Kishan Reddy was grief personified. He had lost an assembly election from a place that has been in pocket burrough. He had won thrice on trot from there. He is immensely loved and adored in the constituency. But, he faced a shock defeat in the very same constituency.

And he lost to a first time corporator – Kaleru Venkatesh. Everyone felt Kishan Reddy would win and all surveys pointed out a facile win for him. But, un-fancied Venkatesh pipped past Kishan Reddy. This came as a big shock for the soft-talking, oratorical and non-controversial Kishan Reddy. He was quite shocked and did not know what went wrong.

But, with hind sight, it now appears quite clear that the loss in Amberpet has led to a gain for him. He has been given the ticket to contest from Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat. Strong Modi wave and an equally strong wave of sympathy helped him and he has become the MP. His seniority, salience iin Telangna BJP's scheme of things and his association with Narendra Modi have helped him in winning the seat. Now, he has been made a minister. For Kishan Reddy, failure proved to be a proverbial stepping stone for success.
