Assembly Lets In Pv, What About Prof. Jayashankar?
By: Tupaki Desk | 25 March 2021 6:00 AM GMTFormerPM PV is going to make an entry into the Assembly hall, but will rnProf. Jayashankar too be able to enter? This question is being hotly rndebated in the political circles of Telangana.
The TRS rngovernment, as part of its strategy to usurp former prime minister PV rnNarasimha Rao's legacy, is all set to install PV Narasimha Rao's rnportrait in the Telangana assembly's committee hall. The painting is rnreportedly done and would soon be set up. With PV's daughter Vani Devi rnentering the legislative council through the recent elections, this rnprocess could be expedited soon. She too would be present at the rnunveiling of the portrait.
At the same time, there are questions rnas to whether the moving spirit behind the Telangana agitation for a rnseparate state, Prof Jayashankar, too would be honoured similarly. Will rnthere be his portrait too in the committee hall? As of now, there is rnnothing to suggest that his portrait would find a place in the committeern hall. Interestingly, PV was strongly opposed to the division of the rnstate.
Earlier, the assembly used to have portraits of Potti rnSriramulu, Tanguturi Prakasam and YSR. But, once the AP government has rnshifted completely to Amaravati, these portraits have been removed
