MP's Marriage Proposal in Parliament
By: Tupaki Desk | 4 Dec 2017 10:15 AM GMTAn interesting incident took place during the debate over legalizing gay marriages in the Parliament of Australia.
Tim Wilson, a Liberal MP, who went emotional while sharing his views on the Same-Sex Marriages turned to the public gallery to ask his long-term partner, 'There is only one thing left to do..Tyan Patrick Bolger..Will you marry me?'. With a smile on his face, Mr.Bolger said: 'Yes' to express his consent.
MPs who witnessed this one-of-a-kind marriage proposal applauded them. Even Deputy Speaker Rob Mitchell congratulated the couple.
For the past 9 years, Tim Wilson and Tyan Patrick Bolger have been in a live-in relationship. They couldn't marry so far as gay marriages weren't legal in Australia.
During a national vote, About 62 percent favored gay marriages and 38 percent opposed it.
