Australian Ad Featuring Lord Ganesha Draws Flak

Religion and religious practices are sensitive issues. Whenever there is a slight misrepresentation or insensitive portrayal from the filmmakers, it will attract controversy. Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) has recently released an ad to promote meat. They have released an ad with the title 'You never lamb alone'.

The advertisement shows gods, prophets from all faiths sitting together and having a meal. Jesus, Moses, Buddha, Ganesha, Aphrodite, Zeus, Obi Wan Kenobi and Ron Hobbard featured in the advertisement. They wanted to bring in Prophet Mohammed as well but considering the backlash from the Muslims, they have revealed Mohammed couldn't make it.

The ad shows Lord Ganesha eating lamb. Members of Indian Society Of Western Australia have raised severe objections over the ad. They have termed the ad an insensitive one and demanded an apology.
