Ayodhya Issue Keeps TRS Confused
By: Tupaki Desk | 2 Feb 2021 5:28 AM GMTWhat is TRS policy towards the fund collection for Ayodhya Sri Ram Mandir construction? This question is being asked in the party circles these days. While some leaders are joining the fund collection drive and are chanting 'Jai Sriram' enthusiastically, yet others are openly opposing the RSS and the BJP. But, there seems to be no clear direction from the party leadership.
Some leaders like Andhole MLA Kranthi Kiran and Pargi MLA have openly joined the fund collection drive and participated with lot of gusto. They also made their personal donations to the fund collection. The party has neither chided nor punished them. It remained completely ambivalent. MLAs like Kalwakuntla Vidyasagar and Challa Dharma Reddy have openly criticised the fund collection drive. They sought to raise the issue of north vs south and Bhadrachalam vs Ayodhya. But, both the leaders apologised the very next day and have stopped talking about it. Minister Satyavathi Rathod too criticised the Ram Mandir fund collection drive, in a very mild tone though.
Interestingly, the party leadership did not reprimand them either. So, the TRS leaders are now confused whether to go ahead and participate in the fund raiser or not. They are afraid that if they do not, they would be seen as anti-Hindu. If they participate, they would be seen as being soft on Hindutva. The party leadership has not taken any decision on this issue so far.
