Babu Blubbers When He Should Keep Silent
By: Tupaki Desk | 15 May 2019 5:56 AM GMTThe AP Cabinet met finally on Tuesday to discuss 'people's problems.' But, what was discussed was politics and pure politics. The meeting, which happened after several petitions and applications, did not discuss any issue of public importance. The Cabinet members discussed who will win how many seats at the Centre. As expected, most said the BJP would not be anywhere near the magic number. They also said that no regional party would want Modi to be prime minister again. They feel that either Gadkari or Rajnath Singh could become the prime minister, as they are more acceptable to the regional parties. Summing up, Chandrababu was at his incendiary best criticising Modi.
But, what is interesting is that while extending support to Modi on one hand, the TDP was discussing the possibility of a BJP or NDA government.
Many TDP insiders felt this would send wrong signals. On one hand, it would jeopardise the TDP-Congress relations and on the other hand, many regional parties would view the TDP with more suspicion. A strategic silence would have been the best thing to do, they felt and quoted YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is keeping his cards close to the chest.
