The brisk polling in Badvel bypoll in Kadapa is baffling the political rnobservers. Normally, bypolls do not attract voter interest if the rncontest is not prestigious. This time around, the main opposition -the rnTDP -is out of the fray. He has decided not to contest the elections. rnThus, this is a virtual walkover for the YSRCP. Yet, the polling rnpercentage is close to 60 percent.
Interestingly, the Badvel rnresult is foregone conclusion as the BJP, which has put up a candidate,rn does not have much presence. It managed to get just 730 votes in the rn2019 assembly elections.
