Bajaj Qute - An Alternative to Nano or Auto?

Bajaj Qute is being seen as an alternative for 3-wheelers/auto rickshaw. It was presented for the first time in 2008 Auto Expo. The launch delayed by almost 9 years because many questions were raised on its safety standards. Centre has created the quadricycle cycle category to bring this vehicle into the market.
Bajal and Renault had jointly developed this new model as RE60, which is best suitable for crowded areas in metros. After Renault walked out, Bajaj named it as Qute. As many as 25,000 units of Bajaj Qute were manufactured every year in Aurangabad Plant. 1/3rd of these units were exported to countries such as South America, Africa, Europe and other Asian Nations.
A Top Speed of 70 km/h can be attained with Bajaj Qute's 216.6 cc engine that produces 13.2 PS Power. It have both CNG and LPG Compliant variants. 'Qute comes with a base price of Rs 1.28 lakh. Mileage of 36 km per litre and 66 grams of carbon dioxide per km is emitted, which make it most economical and environment-friendly four wheeler. Seat Belts have been provided for driver and passengers to ensure safety,' says Bajaj.
