Ban imposed on Diesel Cars registration

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) issued orders stating that no new diesel vehicles would be registered in Delhi.

Even Diesel vehicles which are over 10-year old will come under this new rule imposed by a bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Swatanter Kumar. It may be recalled that NGT already prohibited Diesel vehicles which are more than 10 years old from plying in Delhi-NCR since April 7th this year.

In addition, National Green Tribunal directed Centre and Delhi Government to stop buying any diesel vehicles for their departments.

National Green Tribunal opined Delhi Government's Odd-Even Scheme for vehicles to check pollution in national capital mayn't earn desired results. It warned such a move will prompt people to buy two cars instead of having one.

From January 1st, Vehicles with Odd Registration Numbers will ply on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. Those with Even Registration Numbers can used on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Well, Both Odd & Even Registration Number vehicles can play on Sundays.
