First mayor of Greater Hyderabad Defeated

The results of GHMC elections has thrown big surprise to congress party. The party has just managed to win single seat and leading in two others. Ex-Mayor Banda Karthika Reddy who contested as corporate from Tarnaka division on congress ticket has faced defeat. She lost to TRS candidate Alakunta Saraswathi with a huge margin. Karthika Reddy became the first mayor of greater Hyderabad in December 2009.
Meanwhile TRS continues it's winning with its candidates leading in more than 80 divisions and MIM is following with 35. Bearing some divisions in Old city area it's TRS' show all the way in GHMC . Going by the trend TRS is likely to get the mayor post without having support of MIM.
As the victory was confirmed TRS leaders gathered at Telangana Bhavan and celebrations were skyrocketed.
