Batting Maestro Comes Up With A Request For ICC Over Cricketers Safety At Professional Level
By: Tupaki Desk | 3 Nov 2020 2:50 PM GMTBatting Maestro Sachin Tendulkar expressed his concerns over the safety of Cricketers and came up with a request for the International Cricket Council (ICC). Fans appreciated Sachin for his request.
Last week, Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH) and Kings XI Punjab took on each other in the ongoing IPL season. During Hyderabad's innings, Vijay Shankar was hit on the helmet when Punjab fielder Nicholas Pooran threw the ball towards the striker's end.
Attaching the clip of Nicholas Puran's run-out attempt, the God of Cricket took to Twitter and urged the global governing body of cricket to make the rule of wearing a helmet at the professional level mandatory.
'The game has become faster but is it getting safer? Recently we witnessed an incident which could've been nasty. Be it a spinner or pacer, wearing a HELMET should be MANDATORY for batsmen at professional levels. Request @icc to take this up on priority,' Tendulkar's Tweet read.
Well, we should remember the sad incidents of Australian Test player Phillip Hughes and umpire John Williams who lost their lives after being hit by the balls on the field.
