Battle Of Ego For BJP And Communists In Tripura Polls!
By: Tupaki Desk | 16 Feb 2023 8:18 PM ISTThe rise of the Bharatiya Janata Party can be seen before and after the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. The party is getting stronger day by day by winning one after the other state. The saffron party even managed to win the elections and form the government in the northeast regions too.
The BJP almost did wonder and won the elections in Tripura in 2018. Tripura is a strong base of communists and they have been winning the elections for the past few decades. But the saffron party broke the strong Boston and came to power in Tripura with a good vote percentage.
Now all eyes are on Tripura as the state is going through polls. The ongoing elections are seen as a fight of ego between the BJP and the communists. While the Communists want to give a strong response to the BJP as if ended its dominance in Tripura for around three long decades.
On the other hand, the BJP is aiming to win the second consecutive election and prove that the previous win was not coincidental and its image grew in the region. The BJP already proved that it is the alternative to communists there with the ongoing polls it wants to show that it is the future.
The BJP took big advantage of the long-ruling of communists in Tripura and sent a strong message to voters that the communists did not develop the region. Voters trusted the BJP and voted for it and the party leaders are hopeful that the same scenes will repeat.
So the ongoing poll is a tough battle of ego in Tripura. As of now, more than 50 percent of votes were polled and both sides are confident of winning the polls. The Communist leaders are alleging that the BJP is not letting the voters cast the votes.
While the Bharatiya Janata Party joined hands with the Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) for an alliance, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M) allied with the grand old Congress. As both parties are against the BJP, they joined hands. We have to wait and see who wins the elections.
