Will BCs get jobs & posts anymore?: R Krishnaiah
By: Tupaki Desk | 1 Dec 2017 4:39 PM GMTAP Government took the call to include Kapus in the category of BC (F) in Today's cabinet meeting to fulfill the poll promise made in 2014.
BC Association National President R Krishnaiah disapproved the decision of AP Cabinet by saying: 'It's been done in a one-sided manner. CM & Ministers had influenced Manjunatha Committee. The Panel should conduct an impartial survey. Without conducting a detailed survey on population of Kapus & their educational qualifications, how can they grant reservations? Cabinet approved the reservation even before the debate on the Manjunatha Committee report in AP Assembly & discussions with all the sections weren't conducted. If reservations were granted based on facts, Nobody is gonna object'.
Mr.Krishnaiah believes BCs can't compete with Kapus in jobs and posts if reservations were granted to the dominant community. 'In the local bodies, BCs have 34 percent reservations. If Kapus were included in BC (F), There is no 'F' in local bodies and all the communities in BCs will be treated equally. In that case, Posts such as Sarpanch, MPTC, ZPTC, Counsellor and ZP Chairman will only be grabbed by Kapus. Backward Castes like Padmashalis, Fishermen, Mangali, Kammari & etc., can't compete with them politically. Actual BCs won't get jobs if the bill gets approved in Assembly. All the BC Lawmakers should firmly oppose the reservations for Kapus in the House,' he complains.
