BCCI gives one more shock to IPL fans!
By: Tupaki Desk | 9 March 2021 12:09 PM GMTThe IPL schedule announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) in the last week came as a shock to the fans as no franchise will play matches on their home ground.
As one more shock to the IPL fans, no spectators will be allowed to watch the match in the stadiums. The rule will be applicable for this season as well as how it was imposed on the previous edition.
The 2020 edition of the IPL was held in the UAE with the pandemic outbreak. To see that the pandemic will not affect the games, the governing council has decided not to allow the fans to the stadium.
Media reports have quoted IPL Governing Council Chairman Brijesh Patel as saying: BCCI took the decision to not permit the fans to the stadium for the entire season. The official statement will be made in this regard in the next meeting, which will be held in a couple of days.
Talking about the decision to pick Mumbai as one of the venues which attracted widespread criticism, he said the decision was a tough one and said they are ready to opt for other options for the match venue if anything goes out of the hands.
All the doubts and airs on permitting the spectators into stadiums for the IPL matches will be cleared in a couple of days. We will get more information after the official announcement is made.
