Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, who is popularly called as 'God Of Cricket' made his International debut 31 years ago on this day against arch-rivals Pakistan in Karachi.

On the occasion, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a special post on its official Twitter handle marking the batting maestro’s international debut.

"#OnThisDay 1989 - @sachin_rt made his debut in international cricket 2013 - The legend walked out to bat for #TeamIndia one final time Thank you for inspiring billions across the globe," BCCI's tweet read.

When Sachin made his debut, Pakistan's bowling attack was at the peaks. Even the well-known batsmen around the globe at that time used to fear Pakistan's bowling attack.

The Pakistan team was shocked to see a 16-year-old kid coming out to bat when half of the Indian batsmen were sent back to the pavilion. Though Sachin managed to score just 14 runs, he earned praises for the way he faced, one of the finest bowling attacks.

In his 24 glorious years of career. Sachin Tendulkar went on to make several records under his name. He is the first player to reach 200 in 50 Overs format. He has made 100 centuries in ODI and Test formats which seems to be unbreakable in near time by any other player.

The legendary player bid goodbye to International cricket in 2013. He played his last match in his home Ground Wankhede Stadium against West Indies. Even seven years after his retirement, he is the highest run-scorer in 50 overs and the longest form of Cricket. He scored 18,426 and 15,921 runs in ODI and test formats respectively.
