The postponement of the Twenty20 World Cup until 2021 because of the coronavirus has paved a way to the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) over conduct865ing the Indian Premier Leauge(IPL) after multiple delays as the pandemic spread this year.

The Indian Premier League will be held in the United Arab Emirates from September if India's government gives approval, the IPL chairman told on Tuesday.

"It will be held in the UAE but first the board will seek permission from the Indian government to stage it there," IPL chairman Brijesh Patel said.

However, the exact dates would be decided by the IPL's governing council in a meeting next week.

If the IPL 2020 gets cancelled this year, then BCCI would have to bear heavy loses. The expected loss is around 4000 crore is to be met by the broadcaster Star Sports.
