Why BCCI offered Rs 2 crore for Team India?
By: Tupaki Desk | 8 Dec 2015 10:50 AM GMTThe Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced a cash award of Rs 2 crore for Team India which has convincingly beaten the World No.1 Test Team South Africa 3-0 in the Test series held as part of Gandhi-Mandela Trophy. Post the memorable achievement, India climbed to Second Spot from the 4th place it was at the start of the series.
Indian Cricket Board's official Twitter account posted: "BCCI announces an award of Rs.2 crore to the Indian Cricket Team for their 3-0 series win against South Africa".
Even after a 3-0 defeat, South Africa retained its No.1 position as its slightly ahead of India in the points table. The upcoming England tour will be crucial for South Africa and they will lose the top spot to India if the defeats continue.
Indian Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin believes much better days are ahead for Team India.
