Why BCs Are Holding Meetings Everywhere?
By: Tupaki Desk | 11 Sep 2018 4:05 AM GMTThe BCs are angry and sullen. They are cut up with KCR and the TRS for not giving them their due. On Monday, across Telangana, BC organizations have held conclaves to decide their political course of action in Telangana. A massive meeting was held in Warangal. Similarly, a meeting of 112 BC organistions was held in a swank hotel in Hyderabad on Monday and it was presided over by BC leader R Krishnaiah. In Uppal constituency too, a massive meeting of the BCs was organized on Monday evening.
BCs are a very important block and play a key role in Nalgonda, Warangal and even Medak. Prominent BC castes like Munnuru Kapu, Mudiraju, Gouds and Yadavs are unhappy with the way KCR had treated them. They feel that though some leaders have been given posts, the community in general has been largely ignored. Though they constitute 52 per cent of the population in Telangana, they have been given them only 18 seats by the TRS, which is far too below their demographic strength. The BCs feel they are cheated by the TRS. The BC communities feel that they should also approach the Congress and the TDP with their demands and get as many seats as possible.
With BCs, the major bulwark of the TRS during the Telangana agitation, angry and upset, now it remains to be seen what KCR will do to mollify them and bring them round. KCR has already declared the candidates for 105 seats leaving very little scope for negotiations.
