A Bengaluru-based computer programmer has received $15,000 (Rs 10 lakh) from social networking giant Facebook as reward for reporting a bug. The young guy named Anand Prakash who works at Flipkart, won the bounty for identifying a bug in the log-in process of the social media platform.

The 28 year old said that he had found a bug in social media site which allows him to hack into any Facebook account using relatively simple software without any user interaction. Interestingly, this is not Anand Prakash's first reward from reporting a bug. He's earned over a crore from reporting bugs to various companies over the last few years.

He said that he has earned around Rs 1.2 crore just by reporting bugs for Facebook, Twitter and a host of other US-based companies. Till now he had reported 90 bugs for Facebook and around 30 for Twitter. Facebook launched Bug Bounty Program in 2011 to encourage people to report such security threats found on the social media platform.
