Is YS Sharmila merging her YSRTP into the Telangana Congress is a debate that has been doing rounds in state politics for some weeks. Regularly, the issue becomes debatable due to a few developments. It is said that she is meeting the senior leaders in the party on this.
She is not new to the Congress party as her father late YSR was a Congressman who served as the Chief Minister of the combined Andhra Pradesh. The possibility is getting a mixed reaction from leaders. While a few give positive responses to this, few others are giving negative responses.
As Rahul Gandhi is in Telangana, there is a lot of buzz around the possible merger. The general elections are just a few months from now and the Congress party cannot have this confusion and it wants to get clarity on this at the earliest.
Amid this, a piece of news is doing rounds that say that YS Sharmila recently met former cabinet Minister Jana Reddy in this regard. During the meeting, Sharmila is said to have placed a request before him that she wants an opportunity in Telangana but not in Andhra Pradesh.
Now Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka reacted to the issue and said that no talks or discussions were held with Sharmila on this as of now and it will be announced if any discussion happens. Bhatti also said that the central leadership did not take any calls and that the announcement would be announced if anything gets fixed.
Interestingly, Bhatti did not rule out the possibility or rubbish the rumors. With this, many say that what is being reported might be true or else he would have said that there is no possibility of this. It appears that we might get to hear something unexpected going by this.
