Bhuma Family Bites Dust In Panchayat Polls

Once they were the lords of all they surveyed. Whatever the party in power, their writ ran unopposed. They dictated terms to political parties. Nandyal, Kurnool and Allagadda were almost their fiefdoms. But, in the recent panchayat elections, the fiefdom got completely swept away.
Yes. We are talking about the famed Bhuma family. This time around, the family's political clout has gone kaput. In Allagadda, very few candidates backed by the Bhuma family have managed to sail through. The TDP, to which they belong, has bitten dust. Ditto with Nandyal constituency, which was till recently represented by their family. In Nandyal mandal, the TDP performed very poorly. Even in Kurnool, the TDP did not do well.
Though Bhuma Akhilapriya, her brother Brahmananda Reddy campaigned vigorously, the TDP did not do well in these areas. The people have reposed their faith on the YSRCP in the panchayat polls. These TDP families may have to do a lot of work to regain the lost trust.
