Big shock to Ramoji Rao
By: Tupaki Desk | 20 Dec 2013 4:00 PM GMTSeems like Media Baron Ramoi Rao is going through a bad phase of his career. Recently, Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation has issued notices to demolish the Eenadu office building in Seethammadhara within 15 days.
Today, High Court has ordered Ramoji Rao to pay the arrears rent of Seethammadhara land which was taken for lease in 1973. After a period of time, Ramoji stopped paying the rent of Rs 2.06 crore before January 10th. If Ramoji wishes to continue the Eenadu office at Seethammadhara land, the court has asked him to pay Rs 17 lakhs per month.
Actually, Ramoji has taken the 2.78 acres of land and the building for lease (33 years) from Mantena Aditya Kumara Varma who is the owner. The lease period ended in April 2007 and Varma refused to extend it. So, Ramoji Rao approached the court and this case has been pending.
Regarding the lease amount, Ramoji Rao agreed to pay Rs 3,000 per month but he didn't keep his promise. Hence, Varma approached RCC special court for justice. Then, Ramoji was asked to vacate the office within one month. He then brought a stay order. In return, Varma appraoched the High Court in October this year. Finally, the verdict came in favour of Varma.
