Big shock to TDP in Vizag: This is only the beginning
By: Tupaki Desk | 27 Dec 2019 4:47 AM GMTThe TDP has got its first biggest shock post CM YS Jagan's three capital proposal. Former MLA and Vizag Urban TDP president SA Rahman has resigned from the party. He has strongly opposed Chandrababu Naidu for not backing Vizag as the executive capital of AP. He said he cannot oppose Vizag as a local of the city.
Rahman, who was also the chairperson of the VUDA, said that Chandrababu Naidu has done nothing for Vizag. He accused Chandrababu Naidu of stalling funds to Vizag from the Central Government. He also slammed several leaders in the TDP for invoking caste on the issue of three capitals. He said that the party has completely lost its way ever since Lokesh Babu entered politics. He said that the TDP had done literally nothing in Amaravati even after being in power for full five years. He said that the government had taken 33 acres of land from the farmers in Amaravati and did pretty much nothing.
This is the first big resignation from the North Andhra region after Chandrababu Naidu has opposed Vizag as the executive capital of the state. Sources say that there is deep discontent among the TDP workers on the issue. Many leaders feel that Chandrababu's opposition to Vizag as capital would cause immense harm to their political prospects. Many more leaders could follow Rahman and announce resignations from the party.
