The popular reality show Bigg Boss had entered the Telugu version as well. After four successful seasons, the Fifth season of the show was started recently, and given the Covid fear, the show is being held on the OTT platform and the Disney+ Hotstar is streaming the Telugu Bigg Boss season five. Unlike the previous season, the season can be watched 24/7 by the viewers.

Besides the success and popularity, the reality show is also attracting criticism from various corners. The likes of veteran communist leader CPI Narayana had blasted the show in the past alleging that such shows are unwanted for us as our culture will be destroyed by such shows. Lashing out at the show host King Nagarjuna, Narayan sought a ban on the show.

Voicing CPI Narayana's opinion, Public interest litigation (PIL) was filed in the Andhra Pradesh High Court seeking a ban on the show. The petitioner said that the Bigg Boss show is causing severe damage to the youth and the culture of the society.

The bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court had expressed its dissatisfaction with the reality show and said that these kinds of shows are the major cause of unwanted developments in the society and raising fears over the society is going.

The High Court had patted the back of Telugu Yuvashakti President Kethireddy Jagadeeshwar Reddy for filing a petition on such issues and said that it is high time that the society should also think about the Bigg Boss as a big threat to the society.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court bench comprising Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah and Justice T. Rajasekhara Rao said that the PIL will be heard on Monday. It is interesting to know what the High Court will say in the next hearing. Will the court impose a ban on the show? Well, we have to wait and see.
