With the United Kingdom approving the potential vaccine developed by Pfizer and its german partner BioNTech for public vaccination, the debate on the developments of vaccines developed by other pharma companies has started.
Amid growing debate on vaccine availability, philanthropist and co-founder of Microsoft Corporation Bill Gates made sensational predictions on the availability of the vaccines to beat the pandemic.
The Microsoft co-founder participated at the Singapore FinTech Festival on Wednesday which was held virtually. At the event, he said he is expecting that by the first quarter of 2021, half a dozen vaccines will be made available.
Already Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine was approved. Vaccine candidates developed by Moderna, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, and Novavax would be given authorisation by the vaccine regulators, Bill Gates said.
Showering praises on the regulators over the clinical trials of the vaccine development, Bill Gates said the main task before the world is to distribute the vaccine to the countries, mainly for the underdeveloped and less developed nations.
