BJP's Bold Call In Picking Candidates For Elections!
By: Tupaki Desk | 13 April 2023 5:58 PM ISTThe Bharatiya Janata Party which is eyeing the 2014 Lok Sabha polls is all set to face the general elections in Karnataka and the elections can be seen as semi-finals. We can expect an intense fight between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and the opposition Congress. Both parties are giving their best in this regard.
The BJP which is facing some troubles took a brave decision and dropped many leaders while giving tickets. The party leadership announced the second list for the Assembly seats and mentioned 23 names. The names on the list came as a big shock to one and all.
Usually, the parties go for sitting MLAs and senior leaders as they can have an advantage over others. But the BJP leadership has other plans. It did not give a chance to leaders facing allegations and dropped many senior leaders. Even the former Chief Minister and Ministers were also not entertained.
To show how tough the leadership is in picking the candidates, senior legislator Jagadish Shettar, who earlier served as the Chief Minister was not picked. Eshwarappa, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka was also not picked. It is said that he asked JP Nadda to give him the ticket. But the leadership ignored this and the MLC was not happy with this. So he sent a resignation letter.
Elderly leaders and legislators who are facing allegations of corruption were also ignored. It appears that the leadership wants to leave such leaders and go ahead with young leaders.
Grooming young leaders will serve the longer goals and the party will not have to look for other leaders. This might also be the reason behind the leadership going for the tough decision. The situations are different and it cannot lose the elections now in the southern state.
Political experts are saying that what the Bharatiya Janata Party did is a big example for other parties. Generally, we see the parties going after the seniors while allotting the party tickets for the elections. But the BJP appears to be going against this and sidelined the seniors and leaders who are facing serious allegations.
