BJP's Interest In RTC Union Worries TRS
By: Tupaki Desk | 28 Aug 2020 3:02 AM GMTAre the RTC unions getting active once again? Is BJP's attempt to set up a new union worrying the ruling TRS? If a new union takes birth, what will happen to the existing leaders like Ashwatthama Reddy? These are the hotly debated questions among the RTC employees these days.
After Chief Minister's unequivocally strong steps, the RTC unions have become a thing of past. All the major unionists have been banished. Some sought voluntary retirement, while some more are on a long leave. But of late, there are attempts to revive the unions once again. This time, the BJP is said to be taking the lead. BJP, which is growing fast in Telangana, is showing keen interest in the RTC affairs.
If sources are to be believed, the BJP is already in talks with several leaders and is said to be mobilizing pro-BJP, RSS, VHP personnel. This has sent alarm bells ringing in the ruling TRS camp, which has once again begun reaching out to the RTC employees. The TRS too is actively meeting the RTC employees with an eye on three corporation elections.
With a large number of RTC employees living in GHMC and Warangal corporation limits, the parties are trying to get closer to them. So, the unions, which went into hibernation years ago, might again rise like a phoenix.
