BJP MLA is Director of Slaughterhouse in UP

At a time there was a huge discussion on ban on beef meat here comes the stunning revelation. Firebrand BJP leader Sangeet Som who lambasts the beef-eaters in public recently now identified as owner of one of the slaughter house in Uttar Pradesh. Sangeet Som, along with two others reportedly purchased land for a meat processing unit in 2009. This was revealed by registry documents accessed by one of th enational media house.
Som along with Moinuddin Qureshi and Yogesh Rawat bought land for Al Dua Food Processing Private Limited in 2009. The website of the slaughter house says that it is one of the "leading units of halal meat". It also claims to produce the finest quality of halal buffalo meat and halal sheep and goat meat.
The BJP MLA admitted that he had purchased the land a few years ago. He added that he was unaware of being appointed as a director of the company. Sangeet Som has been involved in controversies and is one of the accused in the Muzaffarnagar riots.
