Kambli's Dalit background ruined his Career: BJP MP

BJP MP from Delhi Udit Raj announced that the dalit background of Vinod Kambli was the reason behind his unsuccessful cricket career. He went on to claim caste based discrimination ruined Kambli's career as a cricketer. 'Vinod Kambli you should not be shy of accepting that you are a Dalit and that was the reason of your exclusion from cricket,' he commented.
Vinod Kambli condemned the controversial claims of BJP MP. 'Mr Raj, I don't support any of your statements. Hence, i request you to refrain from using my name!!!,' he wrote.
In the past, Udit Raj accused BCCI of showing discrimination in the selection process. He even sought reservation in cricket for Dalits. However, BCCO rubbished the allegations and ruled out any chances of reservation.
Sachin & Kambli were childhood friends. Kambli's International Career lasted for only few years. Failure in 1996 World Cup could be the main reason behind his short career.
