Even I was Sexually Harassed: BJP MP

BJP MP Poonam Mahajan stunned everyone by saying every Indian Woman, including herself, has to face sexual harassment at some stage.
Speaking on the theme 'Breaking the Glass Ceiling' at The Red Brick Summit, Poonam Mahajan said: 'I couldn't afford to travel by car when I was studying. I used to catch the train for attending classes in Versova from Worli. Men used to stare at Me in an objectionable manner. Every woman on earth, particularly in India, has to deal with it. Either lewd remarks were passed on Woman or they were touched inappropriately'.
The Parliamentarian feels India is ahead of America in few aspects. 'US don't have a Woman President. In India, Women have assumed the high-profile posts such as President, Prime Minister, Defence Minister and Chief Ministers. It's up to us to walk in the path show by them. If someone harasses you, Don't hesitate to slap them'.
Poonam Mahajan is the daughter of BJP Leader late Pramod Mahajan. She is representing Mumbai North Central constituency.
